Hello Friends,
Isn’t it wonderful to enjoy those extra hours of daylight? As an Interior Designer, two of my favorite events each year are High Point Market and the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), which runs alongside the International Builders’ Show (IBS) in the first quarter. Attending these events feels like stepping into a designer’s wonderland—there’s just so much to see and learn!
This year, KBIS 2025 took place in Las Vegas from February 25–27. The days were packed with product showcases, seminars, and special events, spread across more than 1.2 million square feet of exhibits and 2,500+ exhibitors, attracting 124,000 visitors. I managed to rack up between 15,000 and 21,000 steps each day, and by the evening, I was more than ready to collapse!
Here are a few of my favorite takeaways:
- Luxury & Ease
The overarching theme was creating indulgent, spa-like experiences at home—particularly in spaces like the bathroom—while prioritizing functional design that makes everyday life simpler. - Spa-Like Bathrooms
The focus on bringing serenity indoors continues, even in smaller footprints. Kohler introduced a “cold tub,” mirroring the popular wellness ice baths seen at many spas. It’s a new twist on relaxation (or invigoration!) right at home. - Kitchen & Bath Functionality
Making daily tasks easier was a key highlight. Delta Faucets showcased a bathroom faucet with a pull-down sprayer—great for cleaning the sink—while Moen integrated a grab bar into a toilet paper holder for added safety and convenience. - Quartz Surfaces
Quartz remains a favorite for its consistency, durability, and low maintenance. Cambria wowed attendees with creative uses for its 1cm products, including the option to backlight surfaces for dramatic effect. - Biophilic & Organic Design
Nature-inspired shapes and finishes continue to gain ground, adding softness and warmth to kitchens and baths. The result? Spaces that feel soothing and connected to the outdoors. - Decorative Tile
The artistry in tile design is off the charts—some pieces resemble wallpaper in their intricate patterns and bold statements. (Check out my Instagram @terry.gustafson.design for a glimpse!) - Showcasing Uniqueness
More brands are investing in standout products that serve as focal points—perfect for adding personality to any room.
Of course, this is just a snap shot of everything KBIS 2025 had to offer. If you’re curious about how these trends and innovations could fit into your own right-sized home—where luxury, tranquility, and functional design go hand in hand—I’d love to chat.
